Amanda Mercer is a ceramic designer and maker based in Cumbria. Each piece of her work is individually hand crafted from porcelain and her range consists of buttons, jewellery, homeware and decoration inspired by nostalgia.
Her main interest is ceramic decoration and she likes to combine lace and vintage buttons found in her Grandma's button box, stamps, letters and old black and white photographs. Amanda uses a number of techniques to achieve this timeless quality on her pieces. These include imprinting, applying, screen printing, coloured oxides and glazes and the use of decal transfers that are take from her own designs.
Each piece delicately created is original.
